Supervisor Meegan called the work session to order at 3:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Attorney for the Town Charles Grieco.

Supervisor Meegan read the Fire Prevention Code instructing the public where to exit in case of a fire or an emergency.
SUPERVISOR MEEGAN
Ø Requested all department heads advise their staff to properly direct residents when referring them to other buildings/departments and suggested employees call departments to confirm they are referring residents properly.
Ø Lexington Green flood update – Town received $500,000 from Governor Cuomo to help replenish the budget
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER JOHN GULLO
Ø Agenda item to revise the fee schedule - Requests to reschedule meetings with the Planning, Zoning and/or Town Board will result in additional charges to cover cost of publication, correspondence and postage. Councilman Hanley questioned the cost for people who do not get a building permit and Mr. Gullo responded the fee is doubled.
Ø Proposed changes to Town Code – will allow violation letters to be sent first class vs. certified mail; technical specifications on fire exit signs; changes to some accessory uses relative to pools and electronic signs. Councilman Hart requested a local law be drafted for expert fees. Attorney for the Town Charles Grieco stated he will put together the information and schedule a public hearing for the October board meeting.
Ø Code Red update – sign up forms are available. Presentations will be taking place at adult living facilities and the senior center. Home phones are automatically connected to the system. Residents have the option of adding cell phone numbers, email addresses and the type of notifications they want to receive.

Ø School tax bills are in and will be mailed by the end of week or early next week.
Ø Agenda item designating September 1 – 30th as the annual 30-day Agricultural District enrollment period.

Ø Buffalo Creek update – cleaning is complete; trees were taken out and shoals were moved to the other side.

Ø Agenda items – resignations/appointments; purchase of tasers and radios. The taser program is a budgeted replacement purchase that will save the town money.
TOWN ATTORNEY CHARLES GRIECO
Ø Clinton Street rezoning – Town Board will need to make SEQR determination prior to approval of rezoning. The Planning Board will review for subdivision approval and the Zoning Board will review for area variances. All units are outside the floodplain since the number of units has been reduced from 22 to 21.
RECREATION DIRECTOR CRAIG KROLL
Ø Working on winter camp for vacation breaks; has been in contact with the school regarding bus use
SENIOR RECREATION THERAPIST OF SENIOR SERVICES MARY JOSEFIAK
Ø Agenda items - employee status changes to seasonal
Ø Surprise performance at lunchtime tomorrow from the Lancaster Opera House
Ø Annual flu shots along with drug dropoff day are scheduled in September
TOWN ENGINEER STEVEN TANNER
Ø Bid date requested for ADA accessible restrooms at senior center and Town Hall; Supervisor Meegan requested the first floor restroom be operational prior to remodeling upper floor restrooms.
Ø Police Department Expansion project - Change order #1 for $32,241.70 for additional plumbing work; project is near completion but grading, unanticipated utility costs and issues in the Supervisor’s office still have to be addressed
Ø Burchfield Center comfort station – Building is in the area and just has to be set in place once it is on site; they are still in discussion with Erie County Water regarding the tap cost; Supervisor Meegan did not believe the building will be open for the winter season as most buildings located in parks are not open
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Motion by Supervisor Meegan, seconded by Councilman Hart, to recess to Executive Session at 3:30 P.M. to discuss six employee issues and Human Resource requests for quotes (rfq’s).
Ayes: All Noes: None Motion Carried
The board members returned from Executive Session at 4:30 P.M.
The work session concluded at 4:30 P.M.
