1. Supervisor Clark re Resolution in support of 800 MHz communication system
Motion by Councilman Osmanski, seconded by Councilman Wroblewski, to adopt the attached resolution in support of an 800 MHz communication system in Erie County.
On the question, Councilman Graber stated that the terrorist incident of last week was a prime example of the importance of communication. The 800 MHz system was state-of-the-art and there were many areas throughout Erie County that had dead spots and no communication. Councilman Graber commented that during a time of emergency communication was the number one weapon, even if it required adding a special surcharge to the telephone system.

PURCHASE OF DEHUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM FOR ICE RINK
Motion by Councilman Graber, seconded by Supervisor Clark, to authorize the purchase of a Munters Dry/Cool Ice Air Model A10G from RL Kistler Inc. at a cost of $23,178.00, noting that this was the same dehumidification system that was installed at the Pepsi Center and Leisure Rinks and RL Kistler Inc. was the only manufacturer of this type of equipment.
On the question, Councilman Graber stated that the previous dehumidification system was archaic and did not work very well. This new state-of-the-art system was more energy efficient and would improve the atmosphere inside the Ice Rink.
Councilman Wroblewski stated that the Buildings & Grounds Department employees had been working at the Ice Rink the last few days preparing for it to open, and the new walls that were constructed had really made a difference in the temperature inside the building.

CAR LOT ON CLINTON STREET AND NORTHWOOD DRIVE
Councilman Osmanski referred to Building Inspector Bill Czuprynski the car lot at the corner of Clinton Street and Northwood Drive. Mr. Czuprynski had spoken with the owner about the stone on the lot and the cars being parked where they were not supposed to be, however, a few of the vehicles were still encroaching and nothing was done about the stone. Councilman Osmanski asked that Mr. Czuprynski reinforce his previous directives to the owner.
PLACEMENT OF POLITICAL SIGNS
Councilman Osmanski commented on political signs that were still being placed on street corners, vacant lots and public right-of-ways. He asked Mr. Czuprynski to continue to be vigilant at removing political signs in places where they were not allowed.
APPOINTMENT OF CATHERINE SEWERYNIAK AS PART-TIME CLERK
Motion by Supervisor Clark, seconded by Councilman Osmanski, to appoint Catherine M. Seweryniak as part-time Clerk at the Historical Society at a rate of $6.90 per hour effective September 18, 2001 and authorize the Supervisor to complete and sign the necessary forms for Erie County Personnel.

CAMBRIDGE AVENUE EASEMENT AGREEMENT FOR SANITARY SEWER
Motion by Supervisor Clark, seconded by Councilman Osmanski, to authorize the Supervisor to execute an easement agreement granting the West Seneca Housing Development Co. Inc. a 20-foot permanent easement along the westerly boundary of Cambridge Avenue for the construction of a private sanitary sewer.
On the question, Supervisor Clark stated that this sanitary sewer would benefit the Belmont Shelter senior citizen housing complex being developed on Indian Church Road, and the Engineering Department reviewed the request and had no objection.

PRIMARY DAY RESCHEDULED
Town Clerk Patricia Wisniewski noted that Primary Day was rescheduled for Tuesday, September 25, 2001 from 6 A.M. until 9 P.M. She asked the media's assistance in informing the voters that even if they voted on September 11th, they would have to cast their vote again on September 25th in order for it to be counted.
