Description:Springing from farmland in the heart of West Seneca, Southgate Plaza was constructed in 1955 by West Seneca resident Carl J. Lambein. Mr. Lambien celebrated his 100th birthday in 2007.

Located at Union Road and Seneca Street, the Southgate Plaza has grown from eight original stores to more than 70 merchants and an extensive office complex.

F. W. Woolworth Department Store can be seen in the background. Woolworths was a department store where you could shop or grab a hamburger and a soda and not break the budget. Sears and the bowling alley are located in the foreground.
